Ingredients
- 1/2 lb flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 3/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 2 eggs
- 1 egg, for glaze (optional)
Directions

1Mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl.

2Cut in butter with pastry cutter or 2 knives until mixture resembles bread crumbs.

3Stir in raisins and sunflower seeds.

4Combine eggs and ginger.

5Add beaten eggs to the flour mixture, mixing well to form a soft dough, add a little milk if dough is too stiff.

6Lightly flour a work surface.

7Turn out dough and kneed until smooth.

8Roll dough out to approx 1/2in.

9Cut dough into 2in rounds.

10Place biscuits onto a greased cookie sheet and brush each one with an egg glaze (if using).

11Bake at 400F for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and well risen.
