Rinke Rhubarb

  • 1 pkg. frozen rhubarb
  • dash of cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 can Musselman's applesauce
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar

Directions

    In an enamel or Pyrex saucepan, put in 1/2 cup of cold water and 1 cup of sugar.

    Boil until a syrup is formed.

    Add spices, lemon and rhubarb (which will foam on continued boiling).

    Put aside to simmer.

    Taste for any needed additional sweetening after first adding applesauce.
