- 4 c. plain flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 cake yeast
- 1/4 c. water (warm)
- 3/4 c. sweet milk
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl.

2Mix with shortening. Add yeast and milk.

3Mix like biscuits.

4Knead, then place in greased bowl in refrigerator for at least two hours to chill. Roll like biscuits.

5Grease the top of each and place one on top of another and crimp.

6Let rise and bake in 425° oven.

7These can be made up the night before if you wish.
