- 10 c. sliced squash
- 2 large sliced onions
- 2 tsp. mustard
- 2 tsp. turmeric
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 2 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 pinches of alum
Directions

1Put sliced squash in large kettle. Add onions. Mix together in a bowl the vinegar, mustard, turmeric, celery seed, sugar, salt and alum. Pour over squash and bring to a boil.

2Cook 15 to 20 minutes. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.

3Makes 6 pints.
