  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. cream
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 c. flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. butter extract (if margarine is used)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Cream butter.

    Gradually add sugar.

    Blend in egg, cream, baking powder, salt, vanilla, butter extract (if needed) and baking soda.

    Gradually add flour.

    Roll out about 1/4-inch thick. Cut out.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 400° for 5 to 7 minutes.
