- 1 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. boiling water
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 6 c. unsifted plain flour
Directions

1Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar and salt.

2Blend and cool.

3Add beaten eggs.

4Sprinkle yeast into lukewarm water and stir until dissolved.

5Combine with egg mixture; add flour and blend well.

6Cover and place in refrigerator at least 4 hours (before rolling out).*

7Use a large bowl.

8Three hours before baking, shape with only enough flour to handle.

9Place on greased sheet.

10*Let rise 3 hours, uncovered.

11Bake at 425° for 12 to 15 minutes.
