  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 yeast cakes
  • 6 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Heat milk, sugar, salt and shortening; scald but don't boil. Cool to lukewarm.

    Pour over yeast in large bowl.

    Let yeast dissolve.

    Add egg and flour; let rise to double in size.

    Roll out and cut into rolls.

    Let rise in pan, then bake at 350° until brown.
