- 2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 cakes yeast or 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour (enough to make soft dough)
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add the remaining ingredients and work in flour until you have a soft dough.

3Roll out into desired shapes.

4Let rise until double and bake in a hot oven or let rise and bake them in a 300° oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until just good and firm, not brown. Then store them in freezer for later use.
