- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Melt butter and pour in warm milk with the sugar and salt. Add 2 cups flour and beat in mixer for 5 minutes at medium speed. Stop mixer and add yeast; beat another minute.

2Add beaten egg and another 1 1/4 cups flour.

3(Add more milk if needed.)

4Beat another 10 minutes.

5Let rise in bowl for about 1 hour in a warm place.

6Grease 9 x 12-inch pan.

7Remove dough from bowl and press down into pan.

8Smooth with tablespoon that has been dipped in melted butter.

9Cut in squares, then let rise for 30 minutes. Bake in 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.
