- 1 whole chicken, cut up
- all-purpose seasoning (any brand)
- black pepper
- salt
- self-rising flour
- Crisco cooking oil
Directions

1Rinse chicken thoroughly in cold water.

2Remove skin from chicken.

3Sprinkle chicken with seasoning, black pepper and salt. Roll each piece in flour, then put in black skillet containing Crisco oil.

4Make sure oil is about 3/4-inch deep in skillet. After placing chicken into hot cooking oil (350° or medium heat), sprinkle again with black pepper and all-purpose seasoning. Brown chicken thoroughly, then turn over and brown thoroughly. Turn heat down just a little and cover skillet with lid.

5Cook about 4 minutes more, then remove from skillet and serve.
