  • 3 cups wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • ghee or Butter
  • all-purpose flour

Directions

    Combine wheat flour and water with your hands. With a wet hand, pat down the dough to prevent the outer surface from drying out. Cover and let the dough rest for 15 - 20 minutes before making rotis.

    To make rotis: roll the dough into fist-sized balls, pat down the ball into a small circle and generously apply ghee/butter on the top surface, pinch the edges of the circle together to remake a ball, coat the dough and rolling surface in flour, flatten the ball with the pinched side down, roll out the dough while periodically sprinkling flour to avoid sticking, cook the roti with the pinched side down as well. Serve warm with ghee applied to the top surface.
