  • 3 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs (reserve 3 of the egg whites for icing)
  • 2 sticks butter, melted
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. milk
  • 1/2 pkg. frozen coconut
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Karo syrup
  • 3 egg whites

    Mix melted butter and sugar.

    Add eggs (saving 3 of the whites for icing).

    Beat until mixed.

    Add flour and milk.

    Mix well. Add vanilla.

    Pour into greased and floured pans.

    Bake at 300° until toothpick stuck in center comes out clean.
