Ruby'S Sausage Fondue

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread, cubed
  • 2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 lb. hot bulk sausage
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. Tabasco
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup + 1/2 c. milk

    Put cubed bread in a greased 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.

    Top with cheese.

    Brown and drain sausage and put on top of cheese. Beat eggs with 2 1/4 cups milk, mustard and Tabasco.

    Pour over bread mixture.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Next day, dilute soup in 1/2 cup milk.

    Pour over cold mixture and bake in a 300° oven for 1 1/2 hours, until set.
