  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. white rum

Directions

    Cream together margarine and sugar.

    Beat in vanilla and rum. Add egg yolks, milk and dry ingredients.

    Stiffly beat egg whites. Add to mixture by folding in.

    Bake in greased and floured 9-inch tube pan 1 hour at 375°.

    After cake is cool, paint with Rum Sauce.
