  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 c. flour

Directions

    Cream together butter and sugar; add vanilla.

    Beat in eggs and stir in flour.

    Bake in greased stem pan for 1 hour at 325°. Cool in pan 10 minutes.

    Pour on icing while still hot.
