  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 c. yellow Crisco
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. light rum
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 eggs

Directions

    Cream sugar, butter and Crisco. Add eggs; mix well. Add flour, 1 cup at a time, alternating with milk and rum. Add vanilla. Grease tube pan and line bottom with wax paper. Put 1 cup ground nuts in before adding batter. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
