- 13 cup butter
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 14 of a vanilla bean, halved lengthwise
- 2 -3 tablespoons dark rum
Directions

1Melt butter in large skillet.

2Stir in brown sugar.

3Scrape seeds from the vanilla bean into skillet and add also the bean halves.

4Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until sauce is thick and syrupy, stirring frequently.

5Stir in 2 to 3 tablespoons of dark rum.

6Drizzle with rum sauce over whatever you like.

7Its nice with oven baked plantains.
