- 12 cup molasses
- 13 cup sugar
- 12 cup water
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons rum or 1 teaspoon rum extract
- 5 large peaches, peeled, pitted and halved
Directions

1Combine molasses, sugar, water, lemon juice and rum in 10-inch skillet.

2Simmer 5 minutes.

3Add peach halves; allow mixture to come to a simmer again.

4Cover, cook 10 minutes or until just tender, serve warm or chilled with ice cream.

5If desired, 1 can (28 oz) peach halves may be substituted for fresh peaches.

6Substitute peach syrup for water and reduce sugar to 3 tablespoons.
