- 1/2 lb. chicken livers
- 1/2 can (8 oz.) water chestnuts
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 2 thin slices fresh ginger root or 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 10 slices bacon
Directions

1Cut chicken livers into halves; cut water chestnuts crosswise into halves.

2Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger root and garlic in glass or plastic bowl; stir in chicken livers and water chestnuts. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours; drain.

3Cut bacon slices into halves.

4Wrap piece of liver and piece of chestnut in each bacon piece.

5Secure with wooden pick.

6Arrange on rack in broiler pan.

7Cook in 400° oven, turning once, until bacon is crisp, 25 to 30 minutes.
