  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 1 lb. chicken livers, halved
  • 8 oz. whole water chestnuts, drained and cut in half
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Directions

    Cook bacon until partially cooked (browned, but still limp). Cut each slice in half and wrap around water chestnut and liver. Secure with toothpick.

    In shallow dish, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic powder and 1/4 cup water.

    Add bacon/chicken livers and refrigerate several hours or overnight.

    Turn occasionally.

    Remove from marinade and place on rack in shallow pan.

    Bake in 400° oven for 15 minutes.

    Place under broiler for 2 to 3 minutes, until browned and crispy.
