- rum (at least 54% alcohol)
- 1/2 lb. sugar
Directions

1Place fruit in a clean, large earthenware jar with a glass lid. Pour in sugar.

2Let sit until sugar melts and makes a sauce.

3Add rum until it stands 2 centimeters above the fruit.

4(With a real large jar, you can make a second layer by repeating first 3 steps.) Cover with lid and let stand for 14 days.

5Make sure alcohol stays above fruit level.
