  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • seasoning (Tabasco, garlic, oregano)
  • 8 slices white bread
  • cooked bacon, ham or sausage
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 2 cans mushrooms, drained
  • 4 tomatoes, diced
  • sharp Cheddar cheese slices

    Beat eggs and season to taste.

    Simmer pepper and onion rings until tender-crisp.

    Line well-oiled 9 x 12-inch pan with bread slices.

    Cover bread with meat and layer vegetables (except tomatoes) over meat.
