- 1 c. butter, softened by standing at room temperature
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts
Directions

1With a spoon, soften butter, gradually creaming in the sugar and vanilla.

2Next, sift together the flour and salt.

3Add walnuts to flour.

4Combine flour and butter mixtures.

5Refrigerate for about 1 hour.

6Roll in hands to 1-inch balls.

7Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400° for 20 minutes.

8Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.

9Makes about 3 dozen.
