- 1/3 c. almonds, blanched
- 1 1/2 tsp. coriander (whole)
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin (whole)
- 1/2 c. yellow raisins
- 1/2 tsp. saffron threads
- 1/2 c. butter
- 4 c. cooked rice
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Split each almond into 2 halves.

2Using mortar and pestle, crush the cumin, coriander and saffron together.

3Soak the raisins in hot water for a few minutes and drain.

4Saute all of these ingredients for a few minutes in the butter.

5Add the cooked rice and toss to color the rice and coat each grain with butter.

6Add salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.
