- 2 c. sifted, plain flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. sage
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Sift and measure flour and add salt, baking powder and soda. Sift together and add sage.

2Cut in shortening.

3Add buttermilk; mix well.

4Knead and roll until dough is 3/8 inch thick.

5Cut out biscuits and place on greased baking sheet.

6Bake about 15 minutes at 450°.
