  • 16 c. peeled chopped tomatoes
  • 2 c. green peppers, chopped
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped jalapeno pepper (about 6 to 8 peppers for mild-medium salsa)
  • 3 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 to 2 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 6 to 8 cloves garlic, chopped

Directions

    Simmer all ingredients in large pot, uncovered, for 1 hour. Make paste of 6 tablespoons cornstarch and 2/3 cup water.

    Add to sauce and simmer to thicken.
