  • 2 dried chilis deseeded
  • 1 cup vegetable stock not broth
  • 1/2 small yellow onion 1/2 cup, chopped
  • 5 inches carrot chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

Directions

    In a small saucepan, add the chilis and vegetable stock. Simmer about 15 minutes until the chiles are soft.

    To a blender, add the remaining ingredients, along with the chilies. Puree until smooth.
