Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. shortening, melted in 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 3 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Add sugar and salt to the melted shortening; cool.

    Add egg. Add yeast.

    Add flour.

    Cover and refrigerate.

    After chilled, roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter.

    Spread with butter.

    Top with another one.

    Let stand 1 hour.

    Bake at 425° for about 12 minutes.
