  • 3/4 cup flour, self-rising sifted
  • 3/4 cup sugar sifted
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder sifted
  • 2 each eggs
  • 75 grams butter very soft
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar FOR SAUCE
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder FOR SAUCE
  • 75 grams butter FOR SAUCE
  • 1 cup water boiling FOR SAUCE
  • 1 cup milk FOR SAUCE

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 180c.

    Grease a large ovenproof dish (8 cup capacity.

    Sift the flour, sugar and cocoa into a bowl.

    Add two eggs, butter and milk.

    Beat at meduim speed with an eletric mixer or rotary beater for 3 minutes.

    Beat in baking powder, then turn the mixture into the dish.

    SAUCE:

    Combine the sauce ingredents in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring.

    Pour the mixture over the back of a spoon onto the pudding.

    Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or untill the top of the pudding springs back when touched lightly.

    Serve with cream, ice cream or De Winkle natural yoghurt.
