Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 oz. cube steaks
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp. oil
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 green pepper, sliced thinly
  • 4 oz. mushrooms, whole or pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. chili sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. mushroom juice

Directions

    Season cube steaks and brown quickly on both sides in hot oil. Remove steak.

    Saute onion, green pepper and mushrooms in browned drippings until tender.

    Stir in chili sauce and juice.

    Bring to boil.

    Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes.

    Return steaks to sauce, spoon sauce on top, cover and heat thoroughly.

    Extra juice and chili sauce may not be added.
