  • 3 1/2 to 4 lb. beef (rump)
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 pt. vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • about 1 c. water
  • 12 gingersnaps
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. carrots
  • 6 onions, sliced

Directions

    Marinate meat in vinegar, water, bay leaves, cloves, salt and pepper for 3 to 5 days.

    Then remove meat and brown on both sides. Add 1 1/2 cups vinegar-water and roast in oven at 325°.

    Also add carrots and onions and roast about 3 hours.
