  • 1 c. red wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 6 bay leaves
  • 6 whole black peppercorns
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 4 lb. beef roast
  • 2 Tbsp. fat
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/3 c. gingersnaps

    Combine all but last three ingredients for marinade.

    Cover and refrigerate for about 36 hours.

    Turn meat two times daily.
