  • 1 c. water
  • 3/4 c. wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. allspice
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • flour for gravy

Directions

    Brown beef and simmer in water.

    Add remaining ingredients and simmer 1 1/2 hours.

    Remove meat.

    Make gravy and strain.

    Return meat to gravy.
