Sausage-Bean Casserole

  • 10 oz. frozen lima beans
  • 3 (19 oz.) baked beans
  • 3 (15 oz.) kidney beans
  • 1 lb. Italian link sausage
  • 1/2 lb. smoked ham (cut into 1/2-inch cubes)
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Directions

    Heat oven to 400°.

    Cook lima beans as directed on package; drain.

    Turn into ungreased 4 1/2 quart casserole.

    Add baked beans and kidney beans.

    In covered skillet, simmer sausages in small amount of water 5 minutes.

    Drain liquid from skillet; pan fry sausages until brown on all sides.

    Cut each sausage into 2 or 3 pieces; add with ham to beans.

    Stir together remaining ingredients; pour over casserole.

    Gently mix all ingredients. Bake uncovered 1 hour.

    Makes 10 to 12 servings.
