- 1 lb. smoked sausage
- 1 lb. beef chuck
- 1 large onion
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 red bell pepper
- 2 cans kidney beans
- 1 tsp. basil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 2 beef cubes
- 1 c. boiling water
- 4 medium potatoes, quartered
Directions

1Cook sausage (in bite-size pieces) and beef chuck in 1-inch pieces in 2 tablespoons melted shortening.

2Place in a casserole. Cook onion in fat until transparent.

3Add peppers and cook 1 minute longer.

4Add remaining ingredients and mix lightly.

5Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until beef and potatoes are tender.
