- 1 lb. bulk sausage
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Break up sausage in frying pan.

2Cook 8 to 10 minutes (do not brown).

3Pour boiling water over cornmeal; put in drained sausage. Beat eggs; add milk and salt.

4Combine with sausage mixture.

5Add shortening and baking powder.

6Stir well.

7Pour into a 2-quart casserole; bake at 375° for one hour.

8Serves 8.
