Sausage Pilaf

  • 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 c. chopped pimiento
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1-1/4 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. rice, uncooked
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 c. bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted

    Brown sausage and drain.

    Add celery, onion and green pepper; cook until tender, not brown.

    Stir in pimiento, soup, milk, rice and seasonings.

    Pour into an ungreased casserole.

    Cover and bake at 350° for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally with a fork. For topping, combine bread crumbs and melted butter; sprinkle evenly over the top and bake uncovered 20 more minutes.
