Sausage-Sauerkraut Dinner

  • 2 cans sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1/2 c. white wine
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 1/2 lb. sausage, cut into serving pieces (Eckrich link)

Directions

    Mix well sauerkraut, onion, sugar and caraway seed; set aside. In greased 3-quart casserole, layer the potatoes, half the sauerkraut mixture.

    Add wine.

    Cover and bake in 350° oven for 45 to 60 minutes.

    Serves 4 to 6.

    Can cook in layers in crock-pot (6 to 8 hours).
