- 1 lb. smoked sausage
- 1 can sauerkraut
- 3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. celery
- 1/2 tsp. dill seed
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
Directions

1Rinse sauerkraut.

2In heavy medium size pan, heat bacon drippings and add onion to saute.

3Add remaining ingredients except sausage.

4Cover and cook slowly for 15 minutes or until apple slices are soft.

5Add quartered sausage and continue slowly cooking, covered, until sausage is heated through.

6Serves 4.
