Sauted Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds asparagus only the tender portions
  • 2 tablespoons onion Sliced
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sherry
  • 1 beef broth pkt Powdered, i.e. MBT or Herb Ox
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed, mixed with:
  • 3 tablespoons water

    Wash asparagus and cut diagonally about 2 inches long and 1/4 inch thick.

    Heat oil, brown onion a little; add asparagus cooking over a high heat until its color turns bright green. Mix soy sauce, sugar, powdered beef broth and sherry together; add to asparagus, and thicken with cornstarch mixture. This same recipe can be used substituting broccoli, mushrooms or string beans for the asparagus. Enjoy
