- 2 or 3 cloves garlic, very thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup pitted kalamata olive, or your favorite olive, halved
- 1/2 preserved lemon, about 2 tbs diced
- 1 cup water, lightly salted
- freshly ground grains of paradise, to taste
