  • 2 or 3 cloves garlic, very thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup pitted kalamata olive, or your favorite olive, halved
  • 1/2 preserved lemon, about 2 tbs diced
  • 1 cup water, lightly salted
  • freshly ground grains of paradise, to taste
