Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. bacon grease or vegetable oil
- 2 medium onions, coarsely chopped
- 1 clove garlic (optional)
- 1/2 lb. ground chuck
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can tomatoes (3 1/2 c.)
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 c. water
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. spaghetti (uncooked)
- 1/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated (1 c.)
Directions

1Cook onions and garlic in bacon grease or oil in skillet for 5 minutes.

2Add chuck; cook, stirring occasionally, until meat loses its red color.

3Stir in salt, pepper and tomatoes.

4Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.

5Discard garlic.

6Add chili powder and water.

7Break half of the uncooked spaghetti into greased 2-quart casserole dish.

8Pour on half of sauce; sprinkle with half of cheese.

9Repeat layers.

10Bake, uncovered, for 35 minutes at 325°. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer or until brown.
