Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. dry soybeans
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. onion powder or 1 chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. uncooked oatmeal
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Wash soybeans and soak in 3 cups water overnight.

    Save 1 1/4 cups of this water and drain the rest.

    Grind soybeans with saved water.

    Mix soybeans with oatmeal; let stand 10 minutes.

    Stir in other ingredients.

    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into oiled skillet.

    Cover and cook on moderate heat until browned on both sides.

    Serve with sauce, tomato, mushroom or whatever desired.
