Ingredients

  • 1 lb. walnuts (halves or pieces)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or oil
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Boil nuts in 1 quart of water for 2 to 3 minutes. Drain quickly.

    Heat butter in skillet.

    Add nuts.

    Stir to toast, then sprinkle with soy sauce and sugar.

    Heat, stirring until nuts are coated and deep brown.

    Dry on wax paper and slow oven.

    I add garlic powder or curry powder.

    Store.

    I freeze them until the holidays.
