- 1 ounce Absinthe, used as a rinse
- 2 ounces cognac
- 3 dashes bitters
- 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup
- lemon peel, for garnish
Directions

1Pour the absinthe in a glass.

2Add an ice cube and swirl around.

3Dump out the absinthe.

4In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the cognac, bitters and simple syrup.

5Shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass or an antique egg cup.

6Garnish with the lemon peel.
