Ingredients

  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 1/2 c. peeled, chopped tomatoes, drained
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. mustard
  • dash of pepper
  • 3 slices bread, toasted and cut into cubes

Directions

    Saute celery and onion in butter 5 to 7 minutes or until onion is tender.

    Blend in flour, stirring until smooth.

    Add next 5 ingredients and half of bread cubes. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining bread cubes; bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
