- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
Directions

1Scald the milk.

2Soften yeast in lukewarm water.

3Add shortening, sugar and salt to milk; cool to lukewarm.

4Add 1 cup flour and beat.

5Add yeast and 1 well beaten egg; mix well.

6Add flour to make dough easy to handle; knead.

7Put into greased bowl; cover with damp cloth.

8Let rise for 1 hour.

9Punch down; cover and let rise again.
-
10Shape into rolls.

11Let rise.

12Bake for 15 minutes at 425°.
