School Rolls (Plain)

Ingredients

  • 5 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. dry milk or 1/4 c. whole milk
  • 3/4 Tbsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/8 c. sugar
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 3/4 c. warm water
  • 1/4 c. shortening (add to yeast mixture)

Directions

    Mix first 4 ingredients until flour is light.

    Put next 3 ingredients in a bowl and let dissolve.

    Add shortening to yeast mixture.

    Add liquid mixture to flour and beat well.

    You may have to add a little more flour a little at a time.

    (Let rise until double.)

    Punch down.

    Pinch out rolls and place in a greased pan. Let rise until double.

    Bake at 375° until brown.
