- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. currants (optional)
Directions

1Place flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in mixing bowl. Cut the butter into dry ingredients with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.

2Stir in currants and milk until dough leaves sides of bowl.

3Turn out onto floured surface and pat into 1/2-inch thickness.

4Place on baking sheet and, cutting almost to bottom, score into 12 wedges with a knife.

5If desired, brush with milk or sprinkle lightly with cinnamon-sugar. Bake in preheated 400° oven until browned, about 15 minutes. Serve warm with butter, honey or preserves.
