- 4 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 lb. margarine
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 to 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Stir dry ingredients.

3Blend in margarine.

4Add beaten egg.

5Add raisins.

6Gradually add milk until dough is workable and can be rolled into a ball.

7Take out of bowl and flatten by hand onto a floured surface to 1-inch thickness.

8To shape scones, use cup or juice glass.

9Place onto a floured cookie sheet.

10Bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Yield:

112 to 2 1/2 dozen.
